We ran to home depot/lowes and picked up a few things. We picked up plastic trim that was L shaped and used them as brackets. (Someone suggested it in my last question) We found aquarium safe silicone (100% silicone, no mold/mildew resistant chemicals added) and we glued the brackets in place. It has dried for 3-4 hours and its not going ANYWHERE! I put all of my weight into my arm and pushed on one of the brackets and it wont budge. We then got a 8''x10'' sheet of acrylic and placed it in the brackets. It's completely solid.
Here are some pictures of it. NOTE that it is not finished., We just filled it up for the pictures and to see how level we made it. We have the filter and bubble stone all figured out.
Any cool things i could throw in there to really bring out its appearance. We want more of a natural look and not with the cheap bright plastic chests and stuff. There is about 6.5g of water in the tank space so we are planning on getting 3-4 red clawed crabs, a few platys or tetras, and some corys.

moreVoting Question: How do I bond 3/8" acrylic sheets for a reef aquarium?
I am making an acrylic frag tank that is 48" long by 24" wide by 12" tall. I am using 3/8" thick acrylic. My question is, How should I bond the acrylic sheets? I have heard that weldon products are good, but I can't find any weldon products in my local stores. Are there any other bonding products that will be safe for a frag tank? I found a product called "Amazing Goop Marine" its an adhesive that bonds acrylic and also seals the connections, is this safe/good? Also any other tips that could help me out would be great, thanks.

moreResolved Question: Will my aquarium light penetrate through acrylic glass?
The cover for my aquarium is a sheet of acrylic glass (a.k.a. plexi glass). I'm just going to place my light right on top of the glass. Will that absorb too much of the light my live plants need or will it be alright?
moreVoting Question: can you use Polycarbonate sheets to build a aquarium?

moreResolved Question: 30 gallon Hex Aquarium question?
Hi, I have a 20-30 gallon hex aquarium that I used to use then went back to my 20 standard tank cuz it looks much better. ANYWAY I was wondering if anyone would possibly know if the HEX aquarium is made of acrylic or plexiglass? I was wondering because I had the idea of cutting up the hex and using the sheets to make a wet/dry filter out of it as its a large tank and would provide PLENTY of material for the wet dry, maybe even enough to make 2. Also if anyone has any tips on cutting it that would be helpful. I have a dremel or I could probly use my brother in laws table saw? I also remember seeing you can use a hand saw? or hack saw? I don't know any incite would be MUCH appreciated! thanks! No it's not glass. It is most likely acrylic. It has smooth rounded bent corners not joined by silicone.

moreResolved Question: Cleaning Acrylic Light Shield (mineral deposits) for Aquarium Ballast / Hood?
My light's acrylic shield has white mineral deposits from dried tank water. Its an african tank with high water hardness. The air bubbler sends little droplets of water up & they dry on the sheet of acrylic protecting the lights.
I know you can use a razor blade on glass to get this stuff off, but what about acrylic sheets? Some sort of chemical? I'm afraid of scratching the sheet & reducing the level of light that comes through it even further.
