There has to be a hole in the side, so 'visitors' can easily touch the fish, without having to climb up to the top of the tank
moreResolved Question: Questions about designing a terrarium?
After reading an article today in Good House Keeping I've decided to design and plant a terrarium. Nothing big, I planned to use an old 1 gallon fish tank that I don't use anymore. I have a few questions that I would like some advice on;
1) What are some good plants that I could use in my set up that will stay relatively small, or that will be easy to trim back?
2) I also was wondering if the light bulb in the fish tank would be at all beneficial to the plants, it's basically just a nightlight bulb. I don't think nightlight bulbs are fluorescent or at all beneficial but hey, it's worth a try.
Any other advice on how to make a cool terrarium is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

moreResolved Question: Cleaned aquarium, now dead fish!?
We have a 29G aquarium with five neon tetras, 3 glofish and 4 aquatic frogs. The tank has been active now for 1 month and we just had our first fish casualties, 2 tetras died after cleaning the tank last night. We have taken a very scientific approach to the aquarium and followed all instructions religiously and yet managed to kill the fish. We have been cleaning the tank water weekly, removing approximately 25 percent of the water by an aquairium vaccuum and then refilling it with warm water, temperature tested to approximately 75 degrees. We have added dechlorinator per the directions on the bottle with each water exchange.
What did we do differently? This time, there was a large amount of algae build-up on the walls of the aquarium that we scraped with a cleaning sponge designed from aquariums and obtained from Pet Smart. This resulted in a large amount of debris circulating in the water that was removed as best as possible with the vaccum device. The water was dirtier this week than it has but we don't know what else to do except continuing to exchange water per the directions. As the tank has been running for nearly a month, we have not yet changed the filter cartridge. We also have been removing any uneaten food.
Any ideas? We wondered if the fish could have adapted to the dirtier water and perhaps adding fresh water (even with dechlorinator) could have shocked their systems. Taking a water sample to Pet Smart today to have it analyzed but any other words of wisdom or assistance so that we don't kill all the remaining fish would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

moreResolved Question: Freshwater aquarium crayfish question -?
I recently purchased three crayfish from a local pet store. Each are in his (or her) own tank. One is in a 30 gallon tank with small goldfish, another is in a 55 gallon tank with larger goldfish, and the other is by himself in a 10 gallon aquarium. The one in the ten gallon aquarium is growing quickly and has molted several times already. He also has a very large left claw now. He is beautiful. I would like to add that each aquarium has not one, but two filters on them. The 30 gallon set up has two filters capable of filtering two 40 gallon aquariums individually while the 55 gallon aquarium has two filters capable of filtering two 60 gallon aquariums independently. The ten gallon aquarium has the standard 10 gallon capacity filter on it. The crayfish living within the 30 gallon aquarium stays hidden 98 percent of the time. He has molted one time so far. He is still fairly small. The crayfish living within the 55 gallon aquarium "socializes" with his fish friends but does hide occasionally especially when he molts. He has molted two times so far and has obviously grown quite a bit more than the fore mentioned crayfish. Now the crayfish living within the ten gallon aquarium has molted 4 times already and has REALLY grown quickly. His left claw is really HUGE now. He is by far the largest of the three. FIRST question - are crayfish capable of living with goldfish without being harmed by the "ammonia" within the aquarium? (Remember I do have two filters on each tank both specifically designed to filter no less than 10gallons more than the actual aquarium size itself.) SECOND question - While the three crayfish I have stay underwater, do freshwater aquarium crayfish ever need to come out of the water for any reason? Can they stay IN the water without ever coming out? THIRD question - is there a "live" food I can offer the crayfish to offer them a "variety" in their diet other than the usual fish flakes, crisps, and algae wafers? I do feed them frozen blood worms from time to time which they seem to love. LAST question - does anyone know what the quick moving little things are which are located in the middle front of their body (between their claw arms)? I have noticed these little things moving like crazy when food is available. Is it something that they use to feed themselves with, perhaps? I have used "google" to find information for my specific questions but have yet to find an answer. I have also used "ask.com" only to come up empty handed as well. At this point I feel confident about the care I am giving these creatures. As I am nowhere close to being an expert with raising crayfish I would really appreciate any help you can offer at this time. I am anxious to learn more about them, especially your information which may answer my questions above.
Thanks everyone! Thanks Phill Pill and Wrasse123. This really helps me. :)I forgot to mention that the crayfish which lives in the 10 gallon aquarium is by himself for a reason - he is aggressive with the fish in the larger aquariums.
moreResolved Question: What is a good container to use as a sump for fish tank?
Ok, I am trying to put together a 55 gallon saltwater fish tank. Now I am trying to come up with a sump design for underneath the tank. Unfortunately the stand that i have can only support a container that is 30 inches long and 10 inches wide. Right now all I could find is a ten gallon fish tank that fits width wise, but the length is just not what i am looking for. I'm looking for ideas on containers or maybe a possible way to join two ten gallon tanks as that would be perfect. Thanks for any advice!
moreResolved Question: What's the best way to design an aquarium?
I have an empty five-gallon aquarium tank. I'd like some suggestions on how I can turn it into a gorgeous looking tank with good plants and landscape and not too many fish....for cheap. It'd be nice if the plants can filter and oxygenate the water without the filter.
Remember, my tank can only contain five gallons. So the fish should be small. I like schooling fish, not sure which one I should get.

For AP Biology, I have to get an animal, and find a way to observe its behavior, and design a lab that would run for about 20 min in class. I chose to use the betta fish, but I don;t know how to observe their behavior. I want to get about two or three fish, but I don't know what kinds of tanks to buy, dividers, etc. How would I get the fish to interact and observe their behavior? Any suggestions?
Also, I will NOT place them in the same tank, I don't want to kill them either. I just need some suggestions on how I can accomplish this.
moreResolved Question: Converting a freshwater tank to sand.?
I want to convert my 55-gallon freshwater tank to have sand instead of gravel. I have several "cory catfish," one spotted catfish, green & gold severums, a red ram, paradise fish, and gorami's. I think this will be a beneficial change for them. I have 2 submersible filters that are each designed for a 50 gallon tank. I want to make sure that switching to sand won't hurt my filters and that the filters will be good enough for the sand. I have a Fluegel 4 and I just purchased another one...I can't remember what it is off hand. I'm thinking of buying pool sand from Lowe's. Please advise me on the type of filtration I will need. I hope what I already have will be okay, but if I need to purchase another type of filter, so be it.

moreResolved Question: designing a small pond?
We're getting ready to move to a new apartment. We'll be on the first floor with a large patio (5 feet deep, 13 ft long). Don't laugh, but I want a tiny raised pond and garden out there!!! I am super excited, and am designing it as we speak. I figure, against one of the side walls, I'll build a raised garden (about 2 feet raised up), about 8 inches wide, against the entire 5 ft length of the patio wall. directly in front of that I'll build the pond 2 feet wide and almost the length of the patio wall, I want to leave 6 inches or so on each side of the pond for the garden to come around the sides of it. I figure I can use a large rubbermaid tub for the "base" of the pond, and build a stone wall around it. The pond will be 1 and a half- 2 feet deep. In one corner (the one where the sliding glass door is) I want a small waterfall. I hope I've explained this right. I know I will need a filter and a pump for the waterfall.
But, I have a few questions:
1) What will the best plants be to grow AROUND the pond? I'd like them to be pleasing to the eye, and thrive with partial sunlight, maybe some tall grassy looking plants? Bloom is not important or even necessary.
2) What plants should I put IN the pond? We had a pond when I was growing up, and the pond plants were just BEAUTIFUL. However, I dont know what plants will stay small enough for such a tiny pond, and not take over the whole pond.
3) For such a tiny pond, can I use a fish tank filter?
Thanks guys!!!!!!! Please feel free to offer any other suggestions on the design as well. Im so super excited and want all opinions possible so I can make it awesome!!!!

moreResolved Question: Fishes dying ! Is it Fin Rot & other diseases?
I have quite a number of fishes including Angel fishes , neon tetra fishes , Painted Indian glassy fishes , Bumble bee goby fishes , peach coloured Sucker fishes and red wag fishes . This is my 4th batch , my first batch of fishes were African fishes they died like other fishes . However my second batch were neon tetra and guppies . They didn't died like the first batch , their tails starts to loose colours , then when it turns transparent it starts to breaks off and go missing . When i found out it was dead , they have no tail . This happened to the 3rd batch as well but only the smaller fishes excluding bumble bee goby. And the third batch had one blue fighting fish that died 2 days after it was being bought . The first 3 batches of fishes had these conditions : Water filter , Fake plants , Aqua Safe(NH/CL Formula) , BlackWater , Salt . I don't know why there's salt but the fish owner asked us to put .
We used tap water and we added the Aqua Safe & BlackWater .
AquaSafe : NH/Cl Formula that removes chlorine and chloramine ; For all fresh and salt water aquaria .
Black Water : Replicates natural blackwater conditions .
From the bottle , it is said that Aquasafe instantly removes chlorine , breaks the chloramine bond and neutralizes toxic ammonia which is then removed by the biological filtration . It is designed to be used in combination with Aquasafe , which neutralizes heavy metals and provides a protective coating for the fish .
For Blackwater : It creates clear blackwater conditions within seconds . It contains a valuable natural extract of peat plus essential trace elements and vitamins . Blackwater promotes spawning , color , activity and helps fish to resist diseases . It also encourages plant growth and slows algae growth . Blackwater is an ideal water conditioner for all soft water fish .
For the 4th batch , which is the latest one the conditions were : Water filter , Real plants , Aqua Safe(NH/CL Formula) , BlackWater , Salt . Water Pump .
We bought the fishes only yesterday(excluding red wag , sucker , bumble bee goby) and currently , only one angel fish and 2 neon tetra fish died . I didnt get to inspect them , so i'm not very sure about their conditions when they died . But i know that the tetra fishes sticked to the water filter when they died/after they died .
Oh yes ! and my 3rd batch Bumble Bee Goby Fishes loses its colour on the body before it dies . And only now my father had bought a net to pick them up when they die , before that it's all about using hands and yes they washed their hands first .
The fish tank had been washed yesterday before we put in new fishes . The reg wags are always swimming at the top , indian glassy around the middle and they rest at the bottom . The sucker is always running around .
Your answers would be gladly appreciated ! Thanks !
moreResolved Question: Tetra ideas for my 60L tank?
I have a 60L tank, i was going to get a betta but ive seen a beautiful design that would only suit small shoaling fish, my tank is tall rather than long, its still a good length though, the design is low set so it will give the shoals plenty of open swimming space that they need and i have brilliant filtration that's built in.
I would like black widow tetras or rummy nose tetras or marbled hatchets or harlequin rasboras or neon tetras for my shoals. Could anyone give me an idea of the amount of numbers the shoals could be? A few ideas would be much appreciated. I'm also getting a few shrimp for a mini clean up crew, under a dozen not too many.
This is the design i am following: http://dvice.com/pics/nature-aquarium-2.jpg
Hope the link works if not it does not matter but the design is low set.
Thank you for any suggstions =)I'm not getting a betta sorry if theres any confusion i was going to get a betta but i just want shoaling fish now
moreResolved Question: Bermuda Triangle in my fishtank? Missing fish..please help!?
For some reason every couple of weeks one of my Glofish keeps coming up missing! My Glofish are pretty big about an inch, I generally buy them more mature if I can. Today I noticed I was missing one of my pink ones. I checked the tank...top, bottom, gravel and can't find him anywhere. I also checked the filter thinking maybe he got sucked up although the filter is an Aquaclear and is designed so that it won't suck them up so I don't see how it would be possible. None of the other fish in my tank are really big enough to eat him so I am pretty clueless. This is the second time in the last month one of them kind of mysteriously vanished. The biggest fish I have in the tank are two electric yellow labs and their mouths are still so tiny I don't see how it would be physical possible. Any ideas? In my tank I have the following fish: 3 Glofish, 2 electric yellow labs, 1 pleco, 1 pictus catfish (still a baby), and 2 angelfish. I realize it's a poor stock...I'm a first time aquarium owner so no need to tell me haha.
moreResolved Question: Can I use a 10-30 gallon water heater in a 3 gallon "tank?"?
Hey all,
I have a 100W Whisper pre-set (78 F) submersible water heater that is designed for 10-30 gallons. I would like to use it in a 3 gallon jar that I have and plan to put a Betta in. (The larger tank has goldfish in it, so they don't need the heater) Right now I have the water heater in there set up with the decorations I want to use. I placed a thermometer in it and decided that I would monitor the water temp for a few days before adding a betta fish... If everything pans out and it remains at the appropriate temperature for a few days, is there any danger in using this heater in a tank so small? So far so good... It's been plugged in for a few hours and hasn't gone above 78. (I'm using a certified calibrated thermometer in C, so I'm converting) The thermometer fits just fine into the jar, (It's an antique reagent jar from the lab I work in, no worries it's been thoroughly tested for chemical residues!)
It is true that bettas can survive in various harsh conditions, (mud puddles with extreme temperature variations, like in the wild) but in captivity they thrive in clear water that's between 74-78 F. The fish will be much less lethargic and prone to disease. Also, I'd arguably say that a betta in a small cold jar would not be likely to make many elaborate bubble nests!
I'm asking because I'm not an electronics expert, so I thought it would be nice to see what others had to say. I feel much more confident knowing that as long as my thermostat works, it should be ok. Regardless, I will monitor the temperature through the weekend and see whether it will be safe for my new addition

moreResolved Question: What should i name my Purple and white Siamese Fighter Fish (betta)?
Ok, so i bought another fighter fish today but i don't know what to name it
I have a three sectioned tank so they cannot fight and it is designed so they don't even have to see each other, unless they want to.
My last fighter fish died of old age + a liver condition :( he was a beautiful crown- tail green fish called Gizmo (after the character in the gremlins)
I named my first one Frodo (from Lord of the Rings)
I currently have a red one called Axel (named after the red haired character from kingdom hearts 2)
and a female who also doesn't have a name. She is blue and red, she is a character- she lives with a panther crab and she scares him at times so give her a feisty me from anything you can think of- disney film/ action film/ game character/ television cartoon etc
If you haven't gathered i name my fish after films/ game characters/ what else
If you could suggest any names for
1. the purple and white male betta
and 2. the red and blue female betta
I'll consider anything but make it cool or quirky!

moreVoting Question: Is my filter too big or should I return it and demand one that is suitable for my tank?
Hi I have a 28L Aqua One 120 pink fish tank and a filter for a 40 liter filter.
My original filter was only designed for a 20litre tank and so was not keeping up. I went in and asked for a filter that would do the job and the woman went and fetched me a filter that she claimed to do the job as it was designed for a 30 litre tank. So I went home, put all of the pieces together and got it going. The problem is I took a look at the boc that it came in and realised that it is infact for a 30 US Gallon tank not a 30 litre tank. I assume that she misread it.
The filter is very chunky and taking up a large amount of room in the tank and I am worried that it is infact way too big.
I currently have the original filter in the tank too while the new filter matures so should I take the new filter back to the shop, leave the old filter fighting on and demand either my money back or a swap for a suitable filter or will the filter that I have be ok?Thanks to a wornderful salesperson in the store that I orginally purchased the tank, I actually have too many fish in my tank, I have: 1 normal fantail, 1 black moore, 2 comets and 1 snail.
I'm going to ring the gentleman and see about either getting a bigger tank or getting him to pay for all of the extra equipment that he failed to supply me.
I will be getting a new tank in a years time (hopefully they wont grow too big buy then
moreVoting Question: Can I put resin figures into my fish tank?
I have searched high and low for a fire truck, as well as "Texas" themed ornaments for my tanks and have come up with zilch. I'm designing an ode to Texas tank. I've managed to build the divider for the substrate making a Texas flag, I've jumped through hoops and found a great background, I've found the plants I want but cannot find actual tank ornaments. Among the I want list are an armadillo or two, a "Texas" sign like the Hollywood sign, and fake blue bonnet plants. I do, however, have some resin armadillos in the box as well as a couple other resin items that would work. Assuming I sanitize and sterilize, can I do that? If not, is there a tank safe sealer I could baste them in?
Secondly, I'm designing a Fire Truck themed tank and would like to scuttle a fire truck. I've discovered through trial and error (kid's pool in my back yard) that the plastics and die cast won't work, plastic scale models won't work. I've located a cookie jar and a piggy bank or reasonable size that i'd risk trying, again, is there a sealer I can put on those to cover bases? Is there some secret leaching material in ceramic or glass that could be bad?

My aquarium is empty and no rocks(But already has fish). I'm thinking, maybe I should pile up rocks in my aquarium and make a "reef" kind of design. These rocks may have plants and little critters in them. It may or may not harm my fish. I would buy from our local pet stores but they don't sell any products for any saltwater tanks. All I have in my tank is all bought by the beach, from a fish seller. All fishes are from the wild as well as the water. I have soft corals, and they're from the wild too. Can someone help me decide? :) Thanks in advance.I have a puffer fish(2 inches long), 2 cinnamon clown fish(a small one-2 inches long, and a big one-4 inches long), 1 yellow-tailed clown fish, a goby, a blue damsel, a three striped damsel, a snail, and 3 small hermit crabs. If I can't where can I get them? Buying them from the internet is passed my limit. My parents won't allow me buying anything from the internet. Maybe I'll try boiling them and them drying them in direct sunlight. I'm gonna try and see. :)If there are plants in the rock that I like, do I have to remove it?

Hi there I am a beginner aquarist and am alarmed at the amount of deaths that have occurred in my tank. I understand that my tank is currently small for the fish inside of it but we are buying a new one when mum and dad feel we must or Xmas when ever comes first they said. Tank is 11.3 uk gallons or 13.5 us. What we have in the tank and how big it is
2 Bala sharks (5 inches and 2 inches) -they currently have White spot and are being treated. Their buddy died earlier today from swim bladder.
4 mollies (2 inches/3. 3 females 1 male) - perfectly healthy via behaviour and by apperance. 1 female died of cloudy water.result of a Algae tablet.
1 red tip shark.(2 inches)- a few light patches on it's skin, otherwise healthy
2 common plecos. (4/5 inches both) - perfectly healthy both come out to eat.
1 beautiful White/yellow angelish (3 inches wide. 6/7 tall including fins). Had 1 buddy who died of an unknown cause.
And that's what lives in the tank. We have a large castle which the plecos hide in happily and a cannon which the red tip likes some time to itself.
The fishs' diet consists of tetramin flakes, blood worms. And very rarly algae tablets because the water goes cloudy. They are fed 3 times a day with flakes and bloodworms twice a week.
The tank has a filter designed for a 25gal tank and a thermostat tht turns on an of when temptature is wrong and right. I do a 50% water change once a week and add in acculear and wate control to prevent cloudy water. I work to the dosage on the back.
Please help me out and if I have done anything please don't be rude or mad because it is my first time with fish. Tyvm kamOk so what would be appropriate for a 11.5gallon tank?

I have a young bristlenose pleco and 7 common goldfish (5 that are 4-6", and 2 that are 8-9") I bought the 5 smaller ones for a few cents each at walmart first, then later I bought the 2 bigger ones for $5 each later at walmart, I used to keep them all in a 20 gallon tank, but this effected their health, as some started to develop little black spots, so then I upgraded to a 36 gallon tank, With a marineland Bio Wheel filter that is designed for a 60 gallon tank (it keeps the water very clean)and recently I bought a Bristlenose Pleco, because I was told it would do good with the gold fish. Ive had the goldfish for about 2-3 years now, and the pleco only about a week. The fish seem to have enough swimming space, do I really need to upgrade to a 100+ gallon tank, and if so when?

Hello,everyone
i am in need of some assistance. You see,i have this dream of building or making an aquarium ecosystem. This dream became reality when i bought my 750 gallon aquarium. It cost me a fortune, but i'm happy with my decision.I need someone to give me an idea on what fish and crustaceans i should add to my tank.i already have some ideas for plants and the design of the tank.I would like my tank to resemble a coral reef,or at least one of the rift lakes in Africa.Mind you,i do not want any rift lake fishes, because i have owned many of them in the past.I want something new,in other words, can someone suggest some new and quick growing freshwater fish species which can live in soft acidic to mildly hard water.I would like the 'largest' fish to attain a maximum length of 5 inches.I also need help setting up a 'food web'.This idea may sound a bit crazy, but it's been my dream for nearly a decade now.I already have a variety of plants and the tank is cycled,so i've already taken care of the producer problem.I need the fishes and crustaceans that will be higher in the trophic level. For example after the producers i will have the 'wild' variety of guppy and a few small tetras.I will need a fish that can prey on this fish.My 'wild guppies grow to a maximum length of 3 cm.I live in a tropical climate so the heating won't be a problem.
BTW can you rate my english. You see,i'm learning english and i would love for someone to rate mine.No rude answers please!

i am in need of some assistance.
You see,i'm learning english and i would love for someone to rate mine.No rude answers please!
moreResolved Question: What's the difference between global warming deniers and Creationists/Intelligent Design proponents?
I was watching this fascinating documentary by Nova on Intelligent Design this weekend.
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Judgment_Day_Intelligent_Design_on_Trial/70086394?trkid=226870
Really interesting stuff. I didn't realize that Intelligent Design is literally nothing more than repackaged Creationism. Intelligent Design 'textbooks' were originally written as Creationist, then when courts ruled it unconstitutional to teach Creationism in public schools, they just replaced the word 'Creation' with 'Intelligent Design' and 'Creator' with 'intelligent agent'.
The similarities to AGW deniers were striking. Most of the scientists 'skeptical' of evolution happen to work for right-wing think tanks. Most evolution 'skeptics' were politically conservative. The main argument made by 'skeptical' scientists was that evolution had holes which couldn't be explained by the existing evidence, except scientific studies had already filled these supposed 'holes'.
Their competing "theory" was to fill the supposed holes with an 'intelligent agent' who just poofed species into existence with their current traits - fish with scales, birds with feathers, etc. - and then they evolved slightly after that. Similarly, AGW 'skeptics' seem to think the supposed 'holes' in the AGW theory can be filled by invoking magical natural cycles which can't be explained by any physical mechanism. Perhaps an 'intelligent agent' is behind them, too.
And coincidentally, the most prominent 'skeptical' climate scientist, Roy Spencer is also a big proponent of Intelligent Design.

The similarities between evolution 'skeptics' and AGW 'skeptics' seems quite striking to me. Are there any major differences between the groups?Baccheus - good point. On teaching evolution and Creationism, Watts said:
"I do believe in balance, and if one subject is taught, the opposing view should also get attention."

moreResolved Question: Re-stocking 29 gall aquarium?
Hello everyone, I recently decided to re-do my 29 gallon tank, i have given away some fish and moved the others to my other tank, so as of now the tank is mostly fish free except for a few guppys i have in there that i will move out once i get some new fish. I have changed the substrate, added new decorations. (Synthetic plants, but really good ones designed to look like real species of plants, and theyre extra soft material as to not hurt the fishys) Did 2 or 3 small water changes a few days apart, cleaned the filters and now it's just been running. I think it's ready for fish, all my water parameters are good to go. Now I wan't a community tank, or atleast 2-3 species. I was thinking maybe a community tank based around a beta, But I do not know what make good tank mates for beta. Also i'm not even sure that's for certain if I wan't. I would like to know what are some of the people on this forums favorite community tank set ups for tanks around the same size, as far as species selection goes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

also, i'd like to know your reasons for liking the set ups you may suggest... thanks in advance..

moreVoting Question: Why does BH Obama want us to believe there would be a nuclear armaments race if Iran gets one?
Some of the brightest minds in American universities are Iranian in origin. If they wanted a nuclear weapon they would have done so a long time ago.
Keep in mind Pakistan already has nuclear weapons as does Israel. In fact the US gave Israel those weapons. And how can Obama say that "Israel' security is sacrosanct", when they are the ones who go shooting innocent people like fish in a barrel with weapons designed for military tanks? What kind of democracy is that?

Don't you think it's just a bit strange that someone who claimed to believe in black liberation theology now believes Israel has a "special bond" with the US? Did he suddenly convert to Judaism behind everyone's back?
BTW, it might interest you to know that at least two of his many speech writers are young Jewish men (Adam Frankel, 27 & Ben Rhodes, 31). That says a lot about his speeches.
moreResolved Question: Toad was hit by a car and head is bleeding. How can I take care of it?
I found a toad hit by a car in a road of PA. I moved it away but at the next day was in the exact place so I brought it home to take care of it.
His head is bleeding.
The legs and arms seem to be ok.
I put it on a huge fish tank with dirt, a recipient with water and a "cave" designed for reptiles. I also put worms.
He is barely moving, and his eyes are closed.
What else can I do to help him? There is no exotic vets around. I live in a rural area.
Poor toad :(• Its still alive, sometimes walks 1 or 2 steps around.
• I would never ever euthanize anything! So please keep ur suggestions to youself.
• If for God was important to create a toad then it is important for me to take care of it.

I have a 29 gallon high aquarium with a real good filter designed for a 75 gallon. I currently have 4 small glow fish, 2 black Mollies, 1 Platy, 1 pleco and 2 ghost shrimp. So yea my tank is rather empty. I had a betta and a silver molly in there but bought a red claw crab and he killed and ate them. so I got rid of the crab and did a 25% water change and vac'd the gravel well. What could I add to my tank so that it looks nice. Cardinal tetras? Another Beta? Tiger barbs? well I hear they are fin nippers. What about guppys?
moreResolved Question: Where can get glass lids for a 90 gallon wave front tank?
I have a 90 gallon tank that has the wave front design. Every now and then one of my little fish gets frisky and ends up on the floor. I run halides that will distort most acrylic lids otherwise I would cut out custom lids of my own. I do not feel comfortable cutting my own glass lids since it is not a straight cut. Anyone know a good place to order these from or have other ideas on where to get lids for this odd shaped tank?

moreResolved Question: How does my tank look? (Video included)?
Don't comment on what fish are with what, I've had no problems with them in around a year now so they aren't going to change anytime soon(Did just add another angelfish though and she is quite small compared to the others at this point). I want to know about cleanness, health of fish, design(F there for me), and anything random about the tank. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zkyffuegWk Sorry about quality
moreResolved Question: How should I redo my bedroom?
Okay, I'm 14 and I'm pretty bored with my bedroom.
I want to paint my walls and everything but I need some help deciding what would look best. I've got a relatively small room, but it's not tiny. I've got beige/tan thick carpet. My walls are white:/ they are covered in vinyl records, picture discs, and a couple of posters, and a large foamboard painting I did(well not huge, its about 1 1/2 feet wide and 2 1/2 or 3 feet tall. I have a full bedroom set, including bedframe(headboard and footboard too)(bed is twin size) a huge dresser thing(with cabinets and drawers, smaller drawers on top, and a really big oval mirror) a pretty big chest of drawers, a night table with 2 drawers, and a 30 gallon fish tank, the base of which is white. And everything I mentioned is white. The dresser, chest, and bed all obviously go together, they all have a vintage flower design thing and all the drawers have a leaf-and-flower metal handle. I have a triple-guitar stand with 3 guitars on it, and my amp is always nearby.
I have a shelf with lots of cds and several books on it hanging on my wall and another one hanging opposite it on the other wall, with speakers for my big stereo, which sits on my chest of drawers. My TV hangs from the ceiling. The free floor space in my room right now is probably about 8'x5'. The whole room is probably about 15'x15' or something.
I'm not a girly girl or that big into sports. I'm a bit more of a hippie(earthy, psychedelic-loving, you know the drill(;..), maybe with a bit of punk in there somewhere too. I like my rock. I'd like to do my room in something trippy, neon colors with a blacklight or something(and I could get a lava lamp!:D, but would that look okay with my furniture? And also, would that be alright with my fish? Do fish like blacklights?
An alternative option would be The Nightmare Before Christmas, because I've got a slight obsession. I could paint my walls like the scenes in the movie. Would a blacklight be okay for that? And, would the white furniture go with that? I don't want to sell my furniture. Just work around it.
The only furniture I could paint would be(maybe) the base of the fish tank. I've got a few music posters, lots of vinyl, a big ski on the wall(haha) and a guitar exercise poster. I'd like to leave most of these up. The ski is along the ceiling though so it will not get in the way of anything.
Oh yeah, a third option I'm considering is doing it in the rasta colors(red, yellow and green.) but how would that look with white furniture?
thanks for reading, i know it's a bit long[=

If a fish tank has a has a blue female fish, Zipmannia locktus and a yellow male of the same species is added: Let's say a green young is produced. One proposed mechanism behind this heritable variation is blending inheritance and an alternative mechanism is Mendelian inheritance (particulate).
If an experiment were designed with these two mechanisms:
A) What results from the experiment would support blending inheritance?
B) What results would support the alternative mechanism of Mendelian inheritance?
